Preliminary Task - Analysis

The opening shot of our production starts by showing me walking down the road, on my to the school. I have used a reverse shot so it keeps the audience thinking about who this person could be and so it would want them to watch more. It is the beginning of the production which is why the subtitle is there showing the names of the people who acted and helped create the filming along with the title. This is often shown in a lot of films at the beginning which is why I decided to show it aswell.

As I (boy in the film) get to the entrance of the school, there is an establishing shot of the outside of the school. This gives the audience an idea of where the next part of the film is going to take place. I think is a decent piece of camera work.

The boy is walking into the door and the camera man used the 'match on action' shot where the audience is enabled to see the view from both sides of the door. There is background noise to this clip so the audience have a decent understanding of the surroundings.

This scene shows both characters sitting completely opposite to each other, in other words this 180 degrees line. It is like there is an imaginary line in between the characters engaging a conversation. This gives the audience a clear view of both characters and so they have a clear view of what is happening.

I really admire the next piece of editing along with the excellent bit of camera work. The camera man has zoomed into 'the swap' between the two characters in three different camera shots and views. The following are the three different camera shots:

Angle One

Angle Two                                                                                                                      Angle Three

The three different camera shots used are; 180 degrees line, over the shoulder and zoom in. This has been done to create emphasis on the swap and to show the audience what exactly is being swapped.

The end bit of the filming has been showing like this, emphasising on the money the dealer has made aswell as the lighting from behind shining on his face, showing the happiness on his face.

The final credits of the film just inform the audience, just to be on the safe side that no illegal substances had been used in the making of the film. Also the names of the actors and the roles they played in the film.
